This tale began on the 3rd floor of Ritenour High School, when two sophomores were seated next to each other in a communications class. In this class, they bonded over similar anime tastes, got distracted and reprimanded for playing Tic Tac Toe during video lessons, and unknowingly got to know all about each other over the course of that semester. A year passed until one gained the “courage” to ask a question in a very roundabout manner…
“Let’s say someone liked you and wanted to ask you out…”
“I’d say that they should ask the question, because I would probably say yes.”
“Well… will you go out with me?”
“Yes! OF COURSE.”
… and the two of them have been together ever since.
They saw movies at the theater, explored parks, made out in the Target parking lot, got caught in that parking lot, graduated high school, and went off to two different colleges to start, just to meet back at Maryville University, going for the same degree but with very different career paths in mind. I guess they were overjoyed to be back at the same school together because they would skip over a couple of steps, like graduation or focusing on their next job… They were to become parents. Right at the end of Lynda’s college graduation year, Elizabeth was born, filling their lives with more purpose and joy than they had before. And don’t worry, both stayed and graduated through college as well.
Soon after, they chose to get married at the courthouse, and in 2028, they will be celebrating 10 years of marriage and 16 years of being together. From teenagers in high school to their thirties, well into adulthood, they have watched each other grow, becoming the people they are today while being patient through each other’s growing pains, supporting one another through the easiest and roughest times, and bringing their wonderful daughter into the world.
So, nothing would make us happier than celebrating our love story with everyone we know and love as we renew the vows we took in 2018, but this time with a little flair.
